also.. they started bringing up more servers.. even with early access servers are filling up fast I was just looking at the stats and our server was full already for 2-3 hours it seems. Do we know if they are adding extra "capacity" on these early servers or limiting people from selecting them? http://www.torstatus.net/master-zhar-lestin/history/7d

I'm in, on the Thug server whatever it's called. This game looks beautiful, but it confirmed my fears that I need to upgrade from Mac boot camp to an actual PC... See you guys in there! --

I'm curious. What do you guys like and dislike about the game so far? Dislike - 230k credits for a 10% faster mount -- "(You were in 'Nam? So were we. Where?) I was in...Sang Bang...Dang Gong... I was all over the place, a lot of places. (What unit?) Oh, I was with the Green Berets, Special Unit Battalions...Commando Airborne Tactics... Specialist Tactics Unit Battalion. Yeah, it was real hush hush. I was Agent Orange, Special Agent Orange, that was me."

Likes: -Best 1-50 leveling process out of any MMO period. This is the only MMO where I have woke up in the morning excited to level my char because I wanted to know what happened next. Cool as hell stories, best stories.
-Excellent loot system for normal (not hard mode or nightmare )raids. The game does not penalize you for being overloaded with one class in raids. It randomly assigns a piece of loot to people based on what class they are. So for example lets say you down a boss and are entitled to 7 pieces of loot. Those 7 pieces are randomly distributed to people in the raid based on something they can possibly use) So if a boss drops bracers, 7 people would get their class bracers.
-Interesting raid mechanics. I thought most raids would be a rehash of WoW, but the first two so far are not. Pretty original and fun.
-The Warzones are highly addictive. Especially huttball when played with 2 teams that know what their doing. HIGHLY addictive. One warzone is very similar to Arathi Basin, but the other 2 have their own unique twist, huttball and voidstar.
-Crafting Concept is great with crew skills being handled by your crew.
Dislikes: -230k credits for a 10% mount increase speed. There are like 3 tiers, 90%, 100% and 110%, ridiculous. The only benefit it really helps with is preventing you from being dismounted when you are attacked. With the highest mount I can drive through a pack of mobs and not be dismounted when they shoot me.
-Auction house. Worst AH out of any MMO I have ever seen, and its not even close. Its almost painful to navigate
-UI - Needs to be customizable. I can live with it for the most part, but there are certain parts that make no sense. For example, with my Sorcerer, she is built on Procs. The only way I can tell if I got a proc is staring at the tiny little buff bar at the bottom of my screen to know when to hit my spells that have procced. NOT cool.
-PvP class imbalance. While I think the PvE game is very balanced for classes (though Melee may need some raid help) PvP is another matter entirely
-Training skill upgrades feels more like a Goldsink rather than any real increase of power.
-More usefulness needed for trade skills though it appears they have begun to address this.

and my thoughts:
PROS: (1) Excellent story line... the main pc story lines are incredibly well done... I can not praise this aspect enough. (2) Large worlds (if you played Conan... each "zone" felt like a large room... in SWOTOR each world feels pretty much like a world) (3) NO glitches... it is a *very* stable game (4) MOST of the add-on functionality we grab in WOW is in the base UI. The big one that is missing is the Dominoes functionality.
CONS: (1) Worlds feel empty... it misses, for me, the exploration part of MMOs.. I really have no interest in looking around. (2) Some quests redundant. So in WOW you get the go kill 30 (insert mob name here). In SWTOR there are very few go kill whatever, and those that are there are not really grind quests. However there are a bunch of "Go get or kill <thing> which is inevitably down a large, relatively non-descript hall full of either a group of 4 simply mobs, or one hard mob. It has become monotonous for me. (3) Worlds are not really that interesting to me... this might be an exploration thing again. (4) Most runs are one dimensional... there is only one way to go.. forward... you can't really get lost. (5) All mobs feel the same. They fight the same way... skins are different...but they feel the same. Every now and then you fight a force wielder which is different... but for the most part all mobs feel the same. (6) Peine said it first... AH interface is amazingly bad. It's hard to believe that such an integral part of the game made it to the final edition... it is horrible.
Neutral: (1) Crafting. Mechanics are better than WOW because you tell your minions to do it. However the usefulness is questionable. (2) Fight mechanics are similar to WOW... CDs etc (3) UI is better than stock WOW, but it lacks the utility of add-ons

A few other small things I like : I like when a mob has loot the Lighting system that tells you the quality of loot. The fact you can take your Mod,Armor and such(Like gems) off the piece without destroying it (for a fee). I really like how they zone the main story mobs and areas so not to have 25 people killing the same quest boss where you have to wait for it to respawn. Sorta a personal 1 man instance.. Thats just a few small things I like thats right on the top of my head..

There is some new news regarding SW:tOR ... http://www.swtor.com/free/features ... it's going to be going Free To Play (all the way up to level 50) sometime in the fall. It's already F2P up to level 15 ... they'll just be adding the rest of the game. -- Never, ever, use Holy Word.

Things are going that bad huh? Such a shame. It just wasn't ready. I would love to see a decent challenge to WoW... some day... -- "(You were in 'Nam? So were we. Where?) Things are going that bad huh? Such a shame. It just wasn't ready. I would love to see a decent challenge to WoW... some day... Yes and no..... for those of us that got together into bigger guilds (15-35 online depending on what day) we have been having a lot of fun doing the same as we would have done in WoW with PvP, FPs (Heroics) and Operations (raids) and levelling an alt. It got a lot better just before and after the last large patch 1.3 which 1st merged servers into just a few high population servers and then the patch gave us items such as group finder which, like happened in WoW, made doing dungeons WAY easier. I am not sure what, if anything, there is in WoW that isn't in SWtOR now in terms of major gameplay, though SWtOR does still have companions which are a big plus over WoW. If you come try it out go to "Drooga's Pleasure Barge" on the Imperial side and look up Ubasti, Airze, Thorgrum or myself in "OK Who Pulled" - "OK Who Pulled"

It should have been released as it is now at patch 1.3 .... but then I am not sure how many people were playing WoW 6 months after it was introduced and what was gameplay like?

It was pretty bad. I quit at month 4 but eventually came back. But how do you make enough money to keep up development when you go free to play and combine all of your servers to up population. They needed to do it right the first time. It's a tall order, but a man can dream.. -- "(You were in 'Nam? So were we. Where?) I was in...Sang Bang...Dang Gong... I'd be curious once the full F2P hits how that will change (they'll probably have to add servers). -- Never, ever, use Holy Word.
